Asphodel Mob

The Asphodel Mob was a mob of meerkats that was form in 2002 after Vialli the dominant female of the Whiskers died. All the female in the whiskers over a year old, fought for the dominant female position. Flower who was the oldest won the dominant female, Flower quickly evicted the four other females who fought for dominant female. The four females team stay with each other and then team up two wild males. The new group was called Asphodel. The group started to look for a territory to call their own. The six meerkats found what it looks like a good spot. Their territory took over part of the territory of a group of meerkats bigger than the Asphodel mob, the group was called Balrog. Shortly after the group found the territory the Balrog group came back and kicked them out. The males left, the females slowly died. Rydapuni the last surviving female began to follow the Vivian and over time the Vivian group let her into the group.

The dominant female position was mostly taken by the oldest females. In this group, Smithers the youngest daugter of the ex-domiant female of the Whiskers was the oldest, and Ugly Pup is only 28 days younger than Smithers and she already had pups of her own, Mi Julie and Rydapuni are three months younger than Smithers and Ugly pups soon the domiant female position was most likely taken by Smithers or Ugly Pup. The Dominant male position was most likely taken by the oldest male.

Their main rival group was the Balrog as they were consistantly chased off their land by them. But other groups such as the Gattaca who also formed a territory on Balrogs land and the Whiskers who killed the Asphodels pups probably encountered the gang.

- Vialli the dominant female of the Whiskers dies, Flower,Smithers,Ugly Pup,Mi Julie and Rydapuni all fought for dominances. Flower wins and evicts the four other females who fought for dominant Female.
- The Four females team up with 2 wild males to form Asphodel. The group forms a territory in a part of Balrog territory. The Balrog group comes back and found the group and chased them away.
- The three males leave the females, the females move closer to the Whiskers Territory
- One of the female produce a litter of pups, a few days later the Whiskers group found the burrow and killed the pups. That night Asphodel,Whiskers and a Vivian and Gattaca rover slept in the same burrow, the group disappeared soon after.
- Rydapuni starts to hang around the Vivian mob, and over time the Vivian Mob let her into the group.

Smithers was the last daughter of the ex-dominant female of the Whiskers Holly. She was born on September 8, 2000. Her mother died on September 18, 2000 and she was taken care by Risca(new dominant female) and Artemis. 28 days after she was born Artemis gave birth to two pups one of the pups was named Ugly pup. When Smithers was 6 months old Vivian males join the group. Risca is overpowered by Vialli. When Vialli died, Smithers fought Flower,Ugly Pup,Rydapuni and Mi Julie for dominances, she lose to Flower. She was quickly evicted by Flower. She team up with the female she fought. The four team up with wild males to form Asphodel, the males soon left and the pups were killed by the Whiskers. Smithers died on October 28, 2002.
[edit] Ugly Pup
Ugly Pup was born 28 days after Smither was born. Her mother was Artemis. When Ugly Pup was less than 3 months old her mother gave birth again to three pups, two females Mi Julie and Rydapuni and one male. When Vivian males join the Whiskers, Ugly Pup was too young to mate with any one of them. In late 2001 Vialli the dominant female died, Ugly pup fought for the position, but lose. Then she gave birth 3 pups, all pups died in the next 4 months. She then was evicted and form Asphodel, the males soon left and the litter of pups were killed by the Whiskers. She died November 19, 2002. Her younger sister Rydapuni joined the Vivian group.

Mi Juli was born in a litter of three on January 19 2001 her mother was Artemis. When she was a year old, Vialli the dominant female died, she fought for dominance, she and her sister Rydapuni loses to flower, shortly after Flower evicted Mi Julie,Rydapuni,Ugly pup and smithers. The four team up with wild males to form Asphodel. But the males left, and their only litter of pups were killed by the Whiskers, Mi Julie died on October 28, 2002. Her sister Rydapuni joined the Vivan.

Rydapuni was born in a litter of three her mother was Artemis. When she was a year old, Vialli the dominant female died, she fought for dominance, she and her sister Mi Julie loses to Flower, shorlty after Flower evicted Rydapuni,Mi Julie,Smithers and Ugly Pup. The Four team up with wild males to form Asphodel. But the males left and their only litter of pups were killed by the Whiskers. Rydapuni started to hang around a group call the Vivian and one day the group let her join. This was the only time in the Kalahari Meerkat Project history, the a female from a different group joined a successful breeding group.
