Sister Act (alternatively titled Something's Got To Give) was the third episode of the third season of Meerkat Manor
Summary[]
The Starsky begin the day by basking in the morning light. Carlos is noticeably getting weaker due to his wound on his face and the group is still without a dominant female. Both Mozart and Kinkaju are pregnant and in the running for the position of leader. However it's Kinkaju who ends up leading the foraging party, she discovers a tree of caterpillars for the family to feast on. The Starsky discover the scent of a rival gang and flee when they spot the Zappa in the distance. However, the Zappa ignore the Starsky and are led into Whiskers territory by their dominant male Frank. Flower and the rest of the Whiskers had gone out foraging, leaving babysitters behind to look after her pups Izzy, Buster and Suggs. The pups are frightened by the arrival of ostriches but learn from the adults that the birds are not a threat. But when the Zappa arrive the pups are quickly taken below ground by the babysitters. The Zappa swarm the burrow but the Whiskers return in time to scare off their rivals and save the babysitters and pups.
In Starsky territory Mozart attempts to take the group back to the burrow so she can give birth in a familiar place. However, the group ignores her and follow Kinkaju, who takes them to a new den. Mozart gives birth overnight. The next morning, the Starsky Kinkaju leads the family out hunting, leaving no one behind to babysit Mozart's pups. Mozart is forced to leave them to find food, but in her absence pregnant Kinkaju sneaks back to the burrow and kills Mozart's pups, leaving only a single paw behind. Through Kinkaju's actions the Starsky had lost a litter, but they ultimately gained a powerful leader.
