Basil was born into the Vivian Mob, with the ID code of VVM015. Basil stayed with Vivian for three years. On June 27, 2001 a large rover coalition consisting of Basil, Izit, Zaphod, Yossarian, Genghis, Alexander, Attila, Govinda, Phooey, Patis and Zazu leave the Vivian and join the Whiskers. Basil was the oldest male but his younger brother took dominant male. Basil stayed with to Whiskers for two months before leaving the Whiskers. After Basil left he team up with other Vivian males and joined the Lazuli mob. Basil took dominance, and he and Cazanna were in dominance for almost four year before Basil died of tuberculosis in the winter of 2004-2005. Basil probably fathered many litters in the Lazuli. Some of his more notable descendants are:
- Padloper, former natal dominant male of the Lazuli
- Pancake, Lazuli subordinate and Meerkat Manor star
- Aretha, former Lazuli dominant female

Basil was on Meerkat Manor Season 1 before he died. On the Show Basil was known as Big Si the dominant male of the Lazuli. In the second to last episode Big Si and the Lazuli were attacking Shakespeare and flower's pups. The Lazuli fail to kill Shakespeare and the pups. In Season 2 we find out that Big Si was taken by dieases and died.
